ANIMALS DESERVE THE SAME ATTEMPT IN RESCUING AS ANY HUMAN BEING AFTER ANY NATURAL DISASTER.
Immediately after a natural disaster strikes, very little effort is undertaken to save pets that are trapped in locked houses and if happened upon by emergency relief personnel in search of people, the pets are simply passed by. Worse yet are the pets that have escaped the confines of their homes. Out on their own, scared and hungry, fearing everything, they search for food and a safe place to hide. Most emergency relief personnel will stay clear of the pets that they encounter along the way for fear that the pets have become dangerous after being without food and drinking nothing but contaminated water. In Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath, one newspaper reporter wrote, “Many of those animals sit forlornly on the rooftops of flooded homes, slowly starving to death as rescue boats ignore them, looking for people instead. Some have even tried swimming to boats, only to be rebuffed by the rescuers.”
It breaks my heart to think of all the animals that have been left behind and abandoned by rescuers. Just because they aren’t human beings, does not mean they don’t need help!

THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS. Just because they don’t regularly walk on two legs & talk, doesn’t mean they don’t deserve the same treatment as humans. More often than not, they deserve far better treatment than a lot of the people on this planet, so why ignore them?

My almost 4 1/2 year old dog was a puppy of a dog rescued in Hurricane Katrina. These dogs and puppies get shipped to animal shelters all across North America where people will gladly take them into their homes. I wish more animals had the chance to be rescued during these disasters because compassionate people everywhere will adopt them.

This is a picture of an Animal Testing Facility. The reason they use rabbits for animal testing is because they are the only animal who can not flush chemicals out of their eyes without using aids like water or their paws.Next time you buy cosmetics or hair spray or anything in the beauty section - choose the brands that are NOT tested on animals. Here’s a hint: Loreal are the world’s biggest cosmetic animal testers, and Garnier is a sub-company of Loreal. If you have trouble finding out who tests on animals and who doesn’t, google is at your fingertips. The look on the bunnies face second from the right is absolutely heartbreaking.
